There is a saying in the backup world, that a backup is not a backup, unless it is backed up, and then that backup is backed up!
Before we recommend a backup solution for your business, we will discuss your data structure, your data storage and your data restoration requirements. We will consider the benefits of both Cloud Backup and Local Backup solutions, the right option may well be a combination of both.
We will need to gain an understanding of what the effect of downtime will be on your business. This will help to define which of the combinations of our range of disaster recovery backup solutions is most suitable. The greater the impact, the faster we will need to be able to implement a recovery procedure to get you back in business.
Using a Cloud Backup means that your data is stored offsite, and automatically, with no in-house media to maintain. This eliminates loss of data through fire, flooding, device or media theft / failure or human error. Once your data is backed up into the cloud, it can be restored to any location, either local, or cloud server.
Local backups are quicker to restore and only cost as much as the backup disk. If you keep one disk offsite at all times, they even give you distributed risk in case of a physical disaster in the offices.
Business continuity is more than a backup. It is the plan and all the required elements under that plan to allow your business to keep working in the case of a problem. Whether that problem is your emails being down for an hour or the entire site being affected.
Backups are a vital part of protecting your business, but they’re no good sat on a disk or in the cloud. Disaster recovery is how you restore your systems, software and data in the case of an emergency and how quickly you can everything back working again.
